My make-over is one of 6 chairs I have been working my way through.
From old, yucky, gross, but great lines to....
New, fresh, clean, distressed.
Re-upholstered with a vintage grain sack. How cool is that "25" ?
While I was distressing it, my oldest said "Why do you have to make everything look old?"
"Because I like it."
"No way , not me, I like it all shiny and new."
Please tell me I am not raising a modernist; all sleek lines and shiny furniture (shudder, shudder.)! She already rearranges things I "arrange" in the house, I'll find a Polly pocket in my terrarium or littlest pet shop dogs in a tabletop vignette. It's like living with a mini-me, and honestly, one of "me" is more than quite enough for this house. :)
Thanks for joining in! I'll be showing some of the "distressing secrets" I used on this chair next week. Have fun looking at everyone's great stuff!

So pretty - love the vintage grain sack. You are so good at what you do! And how funny that your daugther rearranges stuff - that is just too cute. :)
Finally made it to the party. Sorry so late in the day! Ended up being out all day, so I look forward to sitting down tonight and looking at all the makeovers.
Love your chair. The stripes and the colors too.
Thanks for hosting the party!
Hi Jen,
thanks for hosting this open house. I had just posted about my art studio re-do, so I just elaborated a bit. It's so fun to see what other girls do. Your chair is soooo cute.
I just came across this blog from another one I visit religiously. Nice job with the chair! After spending all day reading posts here I see I have another favorite to add to the growing list! Thanks!
I love make-overs1 I just added mine and am now going to check out everyone else's. I really like what you used to cover the seat of your chair.
This is my first visit to your blog, and I'm enjoying myself so much! I'll be back often. laurie
Wow...love the new look of the chair! I especially love the stripes. And your daughter sounds soooo cute! I can just imagine her helping you by "arranging" things around the house. Sounds like she is following in Mom's footsteps for sure! If I had a brain, I'd try and remember to join in next month on the 25th...this looks like great fun! I bet you could do a Metamorphosis Monday post every Monday with all the work you have done! So glad to have found your blog. Susan
So sorry I'm late, we had an unexpected trip to make back to MO. I'll be visiting everyone this afternoon. I did manage to get a post up.
Love the chair redo.
Kris

I've had so much fun perusing these makeover projects. Thanks for hosting this.
Nancy
Great! I have a chair similar in my basement...it was my Grandmother's sewing table chair. I'll have to work on that sometime this summer. Love the "25'
Your chair is adorable. I can't wait to hear how you did it.
Beautiful chairs!! That's so cute and funny about your girl...mine went through a stage where she wanted everything new and bright from PB Teen (this is when she was 10-ish), so we went with it - now about a year later, she's back to muted colors and vintage/antique/distressed furniture...thank God!
